Vice President (Mentorship)
Colonel Edmund K. Haraguchi is the Director of Logistics, Office of the Surgeon General, and Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, US Army Medical Command. He is responsible for providing the strategic direction for the full spectrum of worldwide Army medical logistics functions and programs. He also ensures that logistics business processes, readiness programs and sustainment programs meet the requirements of the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) and the deployable forces. COL Haraguchi is the Army and AMEDD representative in development of Tri-service and DLA medical logistics initiatives. He also serves as the Army Surgeon General’s Consultant for Medical Logistics overseeing the career development and assignments for 449 Medical Logistics Officers.
COL Haraguchi was born in Honolulu, HI, and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, with Bachelor Degrees in Biology and Psychology. He received his Masters Degree in Logistics Management from the School of Systems and Logistics, Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio.
COL Haraguchi’s multitude of assignments include Medical Platoon Leader; Aide-to-Camp; Property Management Division Chief; Company Commander; Field Liaison and Readiness Branch Chief; Plans and Programs Officer; Chief, Materiel Branch; RAND Research Fellow; Supply Policy Division Chief; and Logistics Division Chief at Darnall Army Community Hospital, Madigan Army Medical Center, and Tripler Army Medical Center.
He is a graduate of the Officer Basic and Advance Courses; the Basic MEDLOG Course; USAMMA Course; and the Command & General Staff College.
